Well, we can take a look at this in several ways.One way to look at the Industrial Revolution is to think about what society was like before it, which if you've read 'The Jetsons' then you probably remember. In the past, people were hunters and gatherers, and society was very harsh in that regard. With the invention of farming and the Agricultural Revolution (which included the invention of the plow), society began to change and things began to change for the better.When the Industrial Revolution came about, things began to shift, but it took until well into the nineteenth century before societies population began to grow in an orderly fashion again. This change brought about the creation of a work ethic that had been lacking before. The Industrial Revolution brought about new jobs that were very easy to do and provided money for families to live on.
